Discovery Land Company has launched Discovery Dunes, a luxury residential community in Dubai South, on 600 acres (roughly 27 million sq. ft.) in the south of the city. More than 300 land plots and a private Tom Fazio golf course form the core of the master development. Equestrian pursuits, water sports, kite surfing and mountain biking are part of daily life. Residents can also use Discovery Downtown, a members' club in the city, set on The Dubai EDITION's 23rd floor close to Burj Khalifa. On-site farming and water recycling reflect the developer's focus on sustainability.
Entry is by invitation only. The gated community applies a rigorous vetting process, which holds membership to roughly 340 carefully selected people and keeps the atmosphere private. The master plan pairs refined design with the desert landscape, giving a secluded setting with Dubai's skyline beyond. Discovery Dunes Golf Club shapes everyday life across the fairways.
Eco-conscious features appear throughout, and the golf course itself uses water sustainably. The Lakehouse is the first experience centre to be completed. It is a farm-to-table bar and restaurant looking over the course, with upscale dining and lakeside activities such as swimming and paddle boarding.
Plots fall into three categories: Estate, Signature and Lifestyle. Olson Kundig leads the design of each owner's custom villa or mansion, and interiors are created with UAE-based Killa Design and New York's Champalimaud Design. Buyers pick every element, facades through to finishes. Beyond plots, properties for sale include turnkey Dune Villas, and plots can be joined to form family compounds.
